Electric Drive Gear RFQ: Speed, Interfaces & NVH

An electric-drive gear inquiry needs a clear boundary between component manufacturing requirements and whole-drive validation. Tooth geometry is important, but noise, vibration and harshness depend on the connected system.

Identify the reduction stage

State whether the part is a motor-side gear, intermediate gear, output component or integrated shaft. Provide the assembly reference and mating parts. The operating map, rotation direction and load context help explain the drawing without replacing its controlled limits.

Make the helical definition complete

For helical components, include helix angle and hand and identify normal or transverse data. State the required profile and lead characteristics and any specified modifications. These details must come from the approved design rather than being inferred from the desired sound of the drivetrain.

Include shaft and bearing relationships

Bearing journals, splines, bores and locating faces influence alignment. The gear’s relationship to those features should be visible in the datum scheme and inspection requirements. For an integrated gear shaft, submit the complete drawing rather than a cropped view of the tooth feature.

Separate NVH tests from tooth acceptance

Tooth measurements can establish the specified component characteristics. An acoustic target additionally needs the operating condition, assembly, measurement location and acceptance method. Housing behavior, bearings, lubrication and alignment can all affect the result. Specify the operating and measurement conditions needed to evaluate a noise target.

Specify the production-approval package

State first-article, PPAP, material, treatment and traceability needs during quotation. Zhongbang Gear is IATF 16949:2016 certified for production of transmission gears, engine gears and shafts; product design is excluded. Include your part-specific approval and inspection requirements with the inquiry.

Define validation and production quantities

Separate the prototype objective from the series-production forecast. Include the current drawing revision, desired batch quantity and any expected design changes. This allows tooling, inspection and release requirements to be discussed against the actual project stage.
